Toluca, Estado de México, 5 de marzo de 2018. Con 50 Coordinadores Hospitalarios de Donación, el Estado de México se ubica en primer lugar a nivel nacional en cuanto a personal médico dedicado a detectar y evaluar a donadores potenciales.

Esta figura concreta el 98 por ciento de las donaciones a nivel estatal al acercarse a familias de pacientes con muerte encefálica o paro cardiorrespiratorio, y plantearles la posibilidad de dar una segunda oportunidad de vida al donar los órganos o tejidos de su ser querido.

El Instituto de Salud del Estado de México (ISEM) cuenta con 23 figuras de este tipo en igual número de nosocomios que tienen licencia activa para procurar y trasplantar órganos.

A ellos se suman 27 de otras instituciones públicas y privadas, todos capacitados por el Centro Nacional de Trasplantes (CENATRA) y el Centro Estatal de Trasplantes del Estado de México (CETRAEM).

Este equipo de trabajo multidisciplinario se conforma por médicos especialistas, enfermeras, trabajadores sociales y psicólogos debidamente capacitados, gracias a ellos, el 35 por ciento de las donaciones que se logran a nivel nacional, son de mexiquenses.

En caso de requerir un trasplante o tener deseos de donar, la población puede acercarse al Coordinador hospitalario, quien les acompañará durante todo el proceso, brindará la información necesaria y explicará cuáles son los trámites a seguir para concretar la donación.

Entre las unidades médicas del ISEM que cuentan con esta figura, están los hospitales generales de Jilotepec, Valle de Bravo, Ixtapan de la Sal, “Dr. Nicolás San Juan” de Toluca, “Las Américas” de Ecatepec, “Valentín Gómez Farías de Ixtlahuaca, “José Vicente Villada” de Cuautitlán, “Dr. Maximiliano Ruiz Castañeda” de Naucalpan, Hospital de la Salud Visual “Dr. Manuel Uribe y Troncoso”.

Así como el Centro Médico “Lic. Adolfo López Mateos”, el Hospital Regional de Alta Especialidad de Zumpango, perteneciente a la Secretaría de Salud estatal, y el Hospital para el Niño del IMIEM.
