Toluca, Estado de México.-El Festival de Verano 2018, que realizó la Orquesta Sinfónica del Estado de México (OSEM), culminó con dos conciertos de jazz sinfónico, lo cual forma parte de la nueva propuesta musical para la entidad.

Fue así que los mexiquenses se dieron cita, primero, en el Teatro Quimera, de Metepec, y un par de días después en la Velaria de Valle de Bravo, puntos que reunieron a público ávido de disfrutar de este espectáculo musical.

Los tan esperados conciertos de Jazz Sinfónico a  cargo de la OSEM estuvieron acompañados por el afamado jazzista mexicano radicado en Italia, Israel Varela y su grupo integrado por Alfredo Paixao, bajista brasileño, el pianista italiano Ángelo Trabucco y el saxofonista neoyorquino  Ben Welted, quienes hicieron una especial mancuerna a favor de los mexiquenses.

Esta ocasión, y como lo expresó el propio Israel Varela, fue la primera vez en la que interpretó sus composiciones al lado de una Orquesta Sinfónica, evento que le significa un honor y privilegio por ser la OSEM, bajo la batuta de Rodrigo Macías.

“Vivo en Italia desde hace 18 años y el hecho de regresar a mi país, a México, con mi música y tener el privilegio de tocar con mi grupo y la OSEM es simplemente un sueño hecho realidad”, manifestó el jazzista.

Las y los asistentes pudieron disfrutar de piezas como Concierto de Aranjuez y España, de Joaquín Rodrigo, así como As above so below, Cuatro, Renew your mind, Vía Lecco 11, Looking above, Border people, Kairos, Revelation, Zamar, El no tiempo, Fontain of life, autoría de Israel Varela, y en las que se mezclan elementos de jazz, flamenco y colores mexicanos.

También interpretaron las adaptaciones de Huye y Azul, poemas de Frida Kahlo, acompañadas de tres voces femeninas invitadas, Paola Repele, Ingrid y Jennifer Beaujean.

Estas interpretaciones fueron ovacionadas por las familias que, gracias al periodo vacacional, pudieron asistir, cumpliendo así uno de los objetivos de este Festival de Verano 2018.

La próxima temporada de la OSEM comenzará en el mes de septiembre y, como la anterior, la 139 estará llena de sorpresas e invitados especiales.
