Presentan catálogo «Discursos de la Piel, Homenaje a Felipe Santiago Gutiérrez»

Toluca, Estado de México.- El próximo 17 de agosto en punto de las 19:00 horas, el Museo “Felipe Santiago Gutiérrez” se vestirá de gala con la presentación del catálogo “Discursos de la Piel, Homenaje a Felipe Santiago Gutiérrez”, merecida publicación a uno de los más grandes pintores del siglo XIX.

Santiago Gutiérrez, oriundo de Texcoco, Estado de México, fue un viajero, cronista, pintor, maestro, académico, fundador de escuelas y retratista, cuya mayor aportación fue la creación del primer desnudo total femenino en el país.

Úrsula Cotero, Directora del recinto museístico de la capital mexiquense dedicado a este artista mexiquense, destacó la ardua labor de curaduría para este catálogo y relató la importancia de hacer la presentación de éste en su estado natal y en el recinto dedicado a su memoria.

“Se trata de una publicación de lujo, de un personaje de gran trascendencia estatal, nacional e internacional, que muestra un hermanamiento entre la naturaleza y el desnudo femenino; está ilustrada con imágenes que pertenecen a diversas colecciones, cuya labor de varios años y lugares estuvo a cargo de Víctor Rodríguez, quien es el curador, en un trabajo conjunto con el profesor Raúl Arturo Díaz, bisnieto y el biógrafo más autorizado de Santiago Gutiérrez.

“Se cree que en México sólo existe el 30 por ciento de su obra y nos sentimos muy afortunados de que se presente esta publicación ahora en su tierra y en el museo dedicado a su vida y obra”, manifestó.

Cabe destacar que desde septiembre del año pasado y hasta principios de 2018, el Museo Nacional de Arte (MUNAL) exhibió la muestra “Discursos de la Piel de Felipe Santiago Gutiérrez”, aparejado con un catálogo, el cual, ahora se presentará en Toluca, el próximo 17 de agosto, mismo que contiene las contribuciones que realizó al desarrollo de la pintura decimonónica en México y de la cual los mexiquenses nos debemos sentir muy orgullosos.

Parte de su producción de pintura fue un reflejo de las vivencias e influencias artísticas que cosechó Santiago Gutiérrez a lo largo de 20 años, en los que recorrió Norteamérica, Europa y Sudamérica, destacando su estancia en Colombia, donde participó en la conformación  de una escuela de pintura académica.

Como parte de esta gala de presentación, se contará con la presencia de Javier Núñez y Teresita Sánchez Vértiz, que deleitarán con su música en un concierto de flauta y piano, respectivamente.
