• Vence la mexiquense Marifer Noriega en la final a su homóloga de Sonora.

• Gana Sofía García tercer lugar de la competencia.

Zinacantepec, Estado de México.- Las pelotaris mexiquenses Marifer Noriega y Sofía García conquistaron las medallas de oro y bronce, respectivamente, en Frontenis individual, categoría Juvenil B, en la Olimpiada Nacional 2018.

Marifer logró su segunda medalla de este certamen deportivo, al vencer en los dos duelos de la final a la sonorense Yocelyn Fierro 20-11 y 20-13, imponiendo así su condición de local, en el Palacio de la Pelota, de la Ciudad Deportiva “Juan Fernández Albarrán”.

El camino de la pelotari no fue fácil, sin embargo, demostró su superioridad al vencer por resultados amplios a representantes de Querétaro (20-2), Durango (20-8), Oaxaca (20-7), Coahuila (20-11) y en el partido por el pase a la final a la también mexiquense Sofía Paulina García (20-2).

“Me siento muy contenta por la obtención de la medalla, me sentí concentrada y en la final me sentí muy segura, mantener la calma fue la clave para conseguir ese primer duelo, sabía que estaba abajo en el marcador, pero me tranquilicé y mi entrenador me dijo que no perdiera la cabeza.

“Agradezco a mi familia, a mis padres, abuelos, tíos y amigos de la preparatoria “Dr. Pablo González Casanova”, de Tenancingo, que me han ayudado desde el selectivo y a todos los que me apoyaron en la competencia estos días”, subrayó Marifer Noriega.

Por su parte, Sofía García se colgó el bronce en Frontenis Individual Juvenil B tras disputar cinco enfrentamientos donde venció en dos duelos, 20-14 ante Zulema Díaz Mendoza, de Coahuila, y 20-9 con Lorena Paola Ramírez González, de Oaxaca, mientras que perdió 20-18 ante Yocelyn Fierro, que se colgó la medalla de plata en la categoría.
