Inicia Ecatepec, instalación de alarmas sísmicas en escuelas

·         En una primera etapa, 207 escuelas de nivel básico contarán con estos sistemas

El Gobierno de Ecatepec inició con la primera etapa de instalación de alarmas sísmicas  en 207 instituciones educativas de nivel básico. La operatividad de este sistema consiste en detectar las frecuencias sísmicas y activar la alerta hasta 60 segundos antes de que ocurra un movimiento telúrico, dependiendo de la distancia entre el epicentro y la ubicación del monitor.

Indalecio Ríos Velázquez, presidente municipal, informó que el propósito de contar con estos aparatos es impulsar de manera integral la cultura de la prevención en materia de protección civil. Detalló que una empresa especialista es la encargada de instalar los equipos.

Las primeras escuelas  beneficiadas son las que presentaron mayores daños  durante el sismo registrado en septiembre de 2018, entre ellas el jardín de niños Frida Kahlo, en la colonia La Guadalupana; el jardín de niños Quetzalcóatl, en La Florida Ciudad Azteca; la primaria Cuitláhuac, en Guadalupe Victoria; la primaria Enrique Flores Magón, en Benito Juárez Norte Xalostoc y la secundaria Octavio Paz, en Granjas de Ecatepec.

“Las alarmas son colocadas en lugares donde los alumnos y profesores pueden  escuchar claramente la alerta antes de que ocurra un temblor, el sonido de los equipos tiene una cobertura de  360 grados por lo que no requiere de antenas para su operación o de repetidoras. Además, los equipos no necesitan de instalación eléctrica para su operatividad, ya que funcionan con baterías que deben ser cambiadas cada año”, indicó el alcalde.

 

 

Dijo que para fortalecer la prevención, elementos de la Dirección de Protección Civil y Bomberos trabajan en coordinación con personal especializado de la empresa proveedora para crear protocolos de actuación y evacuación, acordes a la infraestructura de cada escuela; además, capacitan a docentes, alumnos y padres de familia para la actuación efectiva en caso de una emergencia.

El alcalde destacó que la tecnología de los equipos colocados en las instituciones es conocida como Sistema de Alertamiento Sísmico Anticipado 360° (EQ Technologies), que detecta sismos con capacidad de riesgo provenientes de cualquier parte del país a través de la Onda P (Primaria), la cual es imperceptible por los seres humanos, dando un tiempo de anticipación hasta el arribo de la Onda S (Secundaria) siendo está la más destructiva.

Agregó que las alarmas son avaladas y aprobadas por laboratorios científicos internacionales como el Departamento de Ingeniería Sísmica de la Universidad de Bogazici, Turquía, el Laboratorio del Centro Nacional de Investigación de Ingeniería Sísmica de la Universidad Estatal de Nueva York, el Instituto Politécnico Nacional, el Instituto de Geofísica de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, entre otros.

Personal de la Dirección de Protección Civil y Bomberos de Ecatepec conformó  cerca de 300  comités vecinales  y escolares con el propósito  de prevenir y atender situaciones de riesgo en el hogar, escuela y vía pública,  también ha impartido  más de  mil 600  cursos   dirigidos a niños,  adultos y  organizaciones civiles.

Las alarmas serán colocadas por especialistas de la empresa Alta Prevención WT México que tiene presencia internacional en países como Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Perú, Colombia y República Dominicana. Prestan su servicio a dependencias  del sector público de los tres órdenes de gobierno y de la iniciativa privada, con el objetivo de mejorar su capacidad de respuesta ante contingencias causadas por desastres naturales.
