Toluca, Estado de México.- Con el propósito de prevenir enfermedades infectocontagiosas en la entidad, así como fortalecer acciones de vacunación y promoción de salud, el Instituto de Seguridad Social del Estado de México y Municipios (ISSEMYM) se sumará a la Tercera Semana Nacional de Salud, con el lema “Mientras tú los quieres, las vacunas los protegen”, la cual se llevará a cabo del 13 al 19 de octubre del presente año.

Osvaldo Arturo Servín Monroy, Jefe del Departamento de Epidemiologia, informó que en esta Tercera Semana Nacional de Salud se aplicarán más de 27 mil vacunas.

Destacó que se trabaja arduamente en la implementación de medidas sanitarias para evitar la aparición de brotes epidemiológicos entre la población derechohabiente.

El especialista detalló los lineamientos con los que este sistema de salud se regirá para la aplicación de ciertas vacunas. Por ejemplo, la Triple Viral (SRP) será aplicada a niñas y niños tanto de nuevo ingreso a instituciones de educación primaria, como a los de seis años de edad cumplidos, no inscritos en el Sistema Educativo Nacional y que no hayan recibido la segunda dosis de este biológico.

Agregó que en el caso del Virus del Papiloma Humano (VPH), se aplicará a niñas de quinto grado de primaria y de 11 años no escolarizadas con primera dosis de la vacuna. La segunda dosis se aplicará en la Segunda Semana Nacional de Salud de 2019.

La vacuna Oral Bivalente contra la poliomielitis tipo Sabin se administrará a niñas y niños mayores de seis meses y menores de cinco años de edad. Asimismo, se impartirán suplementos de vitaminas y minerales como hierro y ácido fólico a la población en riesgo.

Servín Monroy señaló que para el caso de mujeres embarazadas, se suministrará Toxoide Diftérico, vacuna contra la difteria, tosferina y tétanos, además distribuirán sobres de “Vida Suero Oral” y otorgarán a las madres y/o responsables de los menores de cinco años capacitación sobre la prevención de enfermedades diarreicas e infecciones respiratorias agudas.

Añadió que el ISSEMYM cuenta con un acuerdo de colaboración con instituciones de salud como el IMSS, ISSSTE e ISEM, para que cualquier derechohabiente que no encuentre en el Instituto las vacunas BCG, Hepatitis B, Triple Viral y poliomielitis, puedan obtenerlas a pesar de no estar afiliados a esas instituciones de salud.

Finalmente, resaltó la importancia de aplicar las vacunas puntualmente, con las indicaciones del Sector Salud, porque con ello se pretende evitar la aparición de enfermedades prevenibles por vacunación, como el sarampión, rubeola, parotiditis y virus de papiloma humano, entre otras.
