Recibe OAPAS certificación Aquarating

El Organismo de Agua Potable, Alcantarillado y Saneamiento (OAPAS) Naucalpan recibió la certificación Aquarating, estándar creado por el Banco Iberoamericano de Desarrollo (BID) y la Asociación Internacional del Agua (IWA), para evaluar a las empresas que operan el suministro del vital líquido y el sistema hidrosanitario, calificando entre otros aspectos la calidad del servicio y la sostenibilidad ambiental.

El Director General de OAPAS informó que se recibió esta certificación en el marco de la XXXII Convención Anual y Expo de la Asociación Nacional de Empresas de Agua y Saneamiento (ANEAS), realizada en Mazatlán, Sinaloa.

El Aquarating también valora el acceso al servicio y la eficiencia en la gestión empresarial, en la operación, así como en la planificación y gestión de inversiones, la sostenibilidad financiera y el gobierno corporativo, en éste, se consideran aspectos como la rendición de cuentas, la autonomía del operador y la transparencia.

Por su parte, en lo que se refiere a la sostenibilidad ambiental, se evalúa la operación y control de la depuración de aguas residuales, la disponibilidad de infraestructura para la mitigación del impacto ambiental en las operaciones, además de las emisiones y la gestión de residuos.

Vale la pena señalar que OAPAS también forma parte al Pacto Mundial de las Naciones Unidas, en el que se establecen diez principios, entre ellos, mantener un enfoque que favorezca el medio ambiente, impulsar el desarrollo y la difusión de tecnologías respetuosas del medio ambiente y trabajar contra la corrupción en todas sus formas, incluidas la extorsión y el soborno.
